About the project

Navigation

As you can see we think a lot of site navigation and try to keep it simple and efficient as possible. That’s why there is no boring texts at our main page, but only titles and illustrating picture. That’s enough. Our brain thinks imaginary and one picture tells more than thousands of words.

In the right located sidebar in one tabber is summarized all necessary information as category list (including sub-categories), tags, most rated posts and useful links to other sites.

The structure of the single post is a pretty clear. Above all you have a navigation line showing previous and next posts which allows you to go ahead or return back without going at home page. It is very fast and structured way to have a quick flick through the pages.

At the end of the post you have more functions which you need in some cases. If you want to submit a new link than just click upon this link and go to the submission form. Keeping in mind that we did not store any files on our server but only index and link to other sites, there is a possibility to find a link which is not working. If you have a minute to report the post and link here, we can post a mirror source as soon as possible and you’ll be able to download the desired file. We have no illusions we can provide all e-books or satisfied all tastes and interests, but we can try. Use our “e-book request” link if you are searching for some book and can find it. We will find it for you. And in the end this bar included our Facebook group link. Welcome there as a friend to share your thoughts.

Download e-books

Most e-books listed in Astroogle are in PDF format. In most cases you may have pdf reader on your computer, if not we recommend to install a FoxIt PDF Reader or Abode Reader in order to read them. It is more secure first to download the file on your computer using right mouse button and “Save Link As…” option from the drop down menu in order to give a chance to your desktop AntiVirus program to scan the file before open it. You may prefer this way as more secure instead of open the file directly. You may also see some links pointing out to .doc, .zip/.rar and .djvu file formats. Please follow the same consequence of actions when downloading them. For opening .doc files use MS Office or OpenOffice, for archives use your preferred software and for .djvu format you can use Lizardtech Official DjVu Browser Plug-in or WinDjView and MacDjView Desktop Viewers.

Security

We checking downloadable  links for viruses/trojans/spyware once before we publish them in Astroogle. Keep in mind the fact that we link only to readable formats, but not to executable (.exe, .bin, .vbs, .dll and others) in order to protect our users against visiting sites that could harm their computers. We advise you to keep your AntiVirus software updated and to use predominantly browsers with highest level of security like Firefox. We recommend also not to open executable file formats on your computer if you do not trust the source and to be aware every time when some web site ask you to install or run additional program on your computer, because that may cause security leakage  problems. Most browsers alert you when you open harmful site containing fishing, malware or is in some sense dangerous for you. If you see such an alert we advise you to leave it immediately. Check any suspicious site in the list provided from StopBadWare.org Check with your AntiVirus software every file you download on your computer before open it. If you receive accidentally an email pretending to be send from Astroogle and containing links or attached files – do not open it, because we never send to our users messages with links and files. After all we are not responsible for any damages caused by opening files from third party sources. If you experienced any problems tell us in our feedback board.
